The death, i* announced of Captain Malcokn Muir, for many yean connected with the Union Company. (Received January 22nd, 4.54 p.m.) NEW YuKK, January 21. Mr Julian Ralph, the New York correspondent of the "Daly Mail," k dead. Julian Ralph was a newspaper correspondent of wide renown. He was bora in New York in 1853, and occupied at different tunes a prominent position on the staffs of several of the leading New York papess. Of late yearn Mr Ralph had been on the etafl of the London "Daily Mail," and some of the most graphic pictures, of the South African war came from his pen. These were subsequently incorporated into two booke > >"Towarde Pretoria" andi "At Pretoria.". Mr Ralph was one of the. famous quartette of war coxreeporodente -who, at Lord Roberte'e request, edited -tor come week* after the occupation oi Bloemfontein the local paper, the "Feend." Of that incident in 'he war Mr Ralph published an amusing and interesting account in his book "War's Brighter Side." Mr Ralph, wrote several novele and work* of travel. .
