ASHBtTatON. (Before Mr C. A. Wray, 8.M.) WIFE BESEBTION. Wα. Hyde was charged with unlawfully deserting his wife. Mr Wilding appeared for *he proeeoution, and Mr Donnelly for Uμ defence. Evidence Was given by Mi* Hyde, which treat to show that she had received several payments toWaxda her support under an arrangement wbioh had been entered into by the parties some time ago Defendant bed fallen into arrears With his paythente, and had left her witfboub adequate means of support. Sergeant Bai*low said that aceuaed had been arrested in Wellington, and among has effects <wm found a return ticket to Sydney, taken out for "Mr and Mrs Thompson." Tbe Magistrate said that the evidence was very strong against accused that he intended to dear out in company with another woman. An order would be made for tbe defendant to keep his usual weekly payments going, and to obtain a eorety of. £100 or two of £60, tm a guarantee thae he intended to fulfil his obligation*
