Fat cattle—lso head yarded. The butchers having bought outside had th* effect of dulling competition, and lower rates had to be accepted. Best buUccks sold from £9 10s to fill, good £8 to £9 ss, best cows and heifers £8 to, £9, good £6 to £7 10s, beef average- 50s per 1001b. Fat sheep—lsl6 penned. 4»omp_tition wav rather dull, and prices somewhat lower Best wethers realised 17_ 6d to IS-, good 15s 6d to 17s, best ewes 16s to 18s 6d, a few up to 205," good 13« 6d to 15s 6d. Lambs—749 penned, prices "being slightly below Last week's prices. Best brought lis 6d to 13s 3d, good 9s 6d to lis, orfaers 7* 6d. ■ i ' \ Pigs—s2 penned. Bidding was verykeen at high prices. Suckers reaHsed 16s to 21s, »tores up to 30s, porkers 36a to 425, baconers 60s to 665, heavy pigs up to 80s.
