The Stepniak gelding was galloping freely, and easily accounted for Shrapnei Shell, who hurt his leg the other morning. Hatley held Mauserine safe, over five furlongs, run on the tan in lmin 3«ec. Cutts's team was given useful exercise. Hinetaura got a' two lengths' break on. Gold Seal at the four furlong post on tho tan, and kept h to the finish. She ran the half mile in 49sec, and then went another round at a strong pace. Shackle had the better of Eland over a five furlong spin. outside the poles, aone in lmin "sec. Asteroid and Brilliantine, on the same course, ran six lurlorigs in lmin 23scc. Motor ran half a, mile on the tan in 53 sec. Kingman finished easily two lengths in front of Kiugiet ever half a mile on ttie ton in 50 l-sth sec. Gold Crown gave Calibre a four lengths beating from the four fuilong post on the outsido in olsec. King Log cleared away from Dundas as th°y jumpea from the halfmile post on the tan, but Dundas was overhaaliiig him at the end. King Log ran the distance in SOsec. Vfeatguard, who never looked so well, tcck 2-Sth of a second longer to do a similar task. She should win a race. Queen's Guard and Ostiak sprinted pleasingly. Aldinga had all the best of a six furlong spin on tho tan with The Gueseer, ii lmin 20seo. Pallas jumped off from the Thompson mile start ,and ran four- furlongs outside the pole a in Slsec. Elibank and Waiter* took 53 l-sth sec for ha.f a mile on tho outside. • Petrovna finished in front oi Ayrdale and Pure Silver in a four furlong flutter. Canteen and General Symons jumped off the mile and a quarter mark on the outside, Symons leading. On the way they were joined by ifemira, at the mile mark, but byrnocs stopped an he ran along the back the horse refusing to go. Jfenura and Canteen finished together, both- well within themselves. The round took 2mm 2sec. and the milo lmin SOsec. Achilles ran a. haif mile on the tan comfortably m 49sec Advance was not hurried to ao seven furlongs in lmin 82seo, the last five in lmin osec. Siege Uun, cantered and trotted on the tan, and then broke away for five furlongs, which were negotiated in lmin osec, the last two m 25sec. Catherine Gordon appeared to have the best of Eomany Lass over five furlongs. Field Battery finished in from, of Wind over four furlongs or. the outside in 53sec. ioiowai, Livonia, and JJodrna finished m trio order named after a similar gallop in. lscc faster time. Idea beat Auratus oyer a mile flutter outside in 52scc. Aide-de-Camp ran six furlongs on trio tan in lmin- 20sec. Cruciform injured her head and eyes, and is an imorobible starter at the meeting. About Westguaid there has been medium speculation, but she is also believed to bo an improbable competitor in that tace.
