THE GREATER CHRISTCHURCH POLL.
PLURALITY OF VOTES.
The polk on the Greater Christchurch propo-ais will be taken in the city, St. Albans, and Linwood, the polling hours being from 9 o.m. to 7 p.m. At those booths which are also polling places in connection with the election of membera of the Tramway Board, placards will be displayed informing voters in which portion of the building is the booth where tne separate votes are being taken. The two booths will b_ completely distinct, and in no way connected one with the other. Persons qualified to vote on. the proposals are those possessing either a ti<--hold, ratepayer., «or re_ide_ti_i qualification, and whose names appear on the city, St. Albans, and Linwood rolls. In the case of a person possessing a qualification to vote in mare than one district he can exercise his vote in each of the districts 'in respect to which he holds such qualification. THE PROPOSALS. In tihe city the question will be put to the elect©-- in the following form: — "That the City of Christchurch bo united with the -OKttighs of Sydenham, St. __d_-s, and Linwood, or _uc_ of them (if any) as ahall determine in favour of' unity with the eaiid City, so as to form one united city." "I VOTE FOR THE ABOVE PROPOSAL. "1 VOTE AGAINST' THE ABOVE PROPOSAL." Those desirous of voting for Greater Christchuroh will strike out the bottom line. Those who wi_h things to remain as they ore will strike out the top line. The polii-ig places in tiie city will be as follows:— Provincial CoundljOhaiaber" (princdpal) Oddiellowa' Hall, __c__.eld street St. John's Schoolroom. Madras street SL Michael's Schoolroom, Dux-ham street Oddfellows' Hail, __ Montreal street Foresters' Hail. Richmond In St. Albans, and Linwood the voting papers wiil be similar to that in the city, the voter following the same procedure in recording ibis or hor vote. In St. Albans t_e (polling places are: — St. Albans Borough Council Chambers '(principal) St. Matthew's Schoolr-ooni, Caledonian road Linwood the polling places are: — T_ie Borouigh Council Chambers, Worcester street, Linwood (principail) The _oci_l Hall, U__rch street, Linwood THE NUMBER ON THE ROLLS. There are 6899 persons in the City, St. Albans, and Linwood, whose names are . _ the rolls as qualified to vote on the proposals. The details are:—o___it_h.r__--< N.E. Ward, 1030; N.W. Ward, 716; S.E. Ward, 658; _.W. Ward, 975; total, 3379. Linwood (approximately), 1800; Si. Albans, 1716.
