THE MUNICIPAL POLLS.
TWO IMPORTANT QtTESTIONS FOR
DECISION.
INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS
The residents of Christchurch and suburbs and surrounding districts are today called upon to -record their votes on two important matters—the election of the' members of the Chri-tchuroh District Tramways Board and the question whether the city and the boroughs of St Albans and Linwood shall amalgamate or not. The latter matter will, to a certain extent, remain undecided even after to-day's poll, as the vote on the same question in the borough of Sydenham will not be taken rill February 4t'h, and upon the result of that poll will depend the union of the other boroughs with the city. It will not be out ol place, in view of the important issues involved, to give for the information of electors, somo particulars of the method to be adopted in taking the votes.
