(PSE3S ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) NAPIER, January 20. A tehoujs fire occurred at Hastings this morning, lfcsulting in the destruction t>l three shops in the main street, oceupjed by Mr J. P. Johurftoue (fruiterer), Mr W. Read (bootmaker), and Mr W. Conway (boot factory). Ihe dwellings attached to Me&fn* Johnetone's and Conway'* enop , * were also destroyed. The insurances are: — On Johnstone's stocks and furniture, £150, in the South British Office, and on the bonding (owned by Mr Schaetfer), £250, in tins London, Liverpool, and Globe. Conw»y'<» furniture and machinery were not insured, bnt the building (owned by Messrs J. Colline and T. Dolbel) was insured for £150 in the New Zealand Company, and £120 in the Alliance Company. Read's stock and furniture were not insured. WKLLINGTON, January 20. A eeven-roomed dwelling, belonging to John Jacobs, farmer, Pahautanui, wae destroyed by fire. The insurances were: — House £250, furniture £100, in the Com- ,- merciai Unitm. A two-storeyed house and its contents, owned by Mr F. Knowles, was destroyed by fire ai West Oxford at three o'clock "n Monday morning. Mr Knowlea waa aroueeti by his little girl, and found the house in flames.
