SATURDAY'S MATCHES.
The final games of the secancT round of Senior Cup matches -were oommeooed m Ghrietohurch on Saiburday, when *&• weather vraa fine, though threatening, bat tie rain (held off, and, as them bad been hardly any tmei weather during the -week, the •wicketa were in good order. Owing 'o Lancaster Park being otherwise engaged, botih Senior matches were played ojb Hagley Park, and there was a capital attendance of onlookers to witness the play. Most interest was centred in the game between the United and Lancaster Park teams, each of whom, had only lost one matoh thifi season, and an even day's play resulted. In the Midland-Sydenhiua game the latter were treated to a rare afternoon's leather buratin-g, Pearce and Lawrence each passing the oentury, the former's exhibition being about the moet forcible seen in Christchurch this season. In the Junior Cup competition Sydenham followed up their victory over Midland the previous week by having decidedly the better of their game vtith Lancaster Park, who are leading fox the trophy.
