THE PREMIER'S OFFER TO AUSTRALIA.
A LETTEK OF THANKS.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 18. At Kumara the Premier received the following communication from the Secretary of the Clear Hills Progress Farmers and Settlers , Association, Oaklands, Corowa, New South Wales, dated January 3rd.
The letter begins:—"l am instructed, on behalf of tho above Association, and also of the farmers and settlers of the Biverma, to convey to you their hearty thanks for your kind and.gsneiroiis'action in offering a supply of seed and fodder to this State, for the bonefit of farmers and settlers who have suffered so severely through bbc long drought, and to assure you that they fuLy appreciate the' kindiy motives that prompteayon to make the offer, and to express regret thai the Premkr of this State has not accepted the offer in the spirit in which it was maide;—(Signed) A.
