The installation of officers of St. l'ailick'e Branch of the H.A.C.B. Society took place in the Hibernian Hall on Wednesday evening, in the presence of a large cumber of members and visitors. The toilowing officers were installed:—President, Bro. W. Packer; VP-, Bro. J. Uynes; lecretary, Bro. G. J. Sellars, P.l'., P.D.P.; treasurer, Bro. Evana, P.P.; asiietant secretary, Bro. Mallaqum; warden, Bro. C. Lafferty; guardian, Bro. Mallaquin, jun.; sick visitors, Bros. J. Neteon and W. Baird. A social gathering was held after the,installation. A meeting of the Elim Division, Sons and Daughters of Temperance, was held in the Division Room, St. Albans lane, on Thursday. One candidate was duly elected and initiated into the Order. " Bro. T. I. Moore, M.W.P.. assisted by Bro. WatsonCooper, P.M.W.P., and Bro. Hoddinott, 31.W.C, then installed the following officers of tihe division:—W.A., Bro. H. PhiJpott; treasurer, Bro. J. Harrison: F.S., Bro. V. Bedwell; R.S., Bro. J. Wykes; A.R.S., Bro. R. Baker; A.C., Bro. Diehl; chaplain, Bro. S. Fenner. A general meeting of the Scottish Soekty of New Zealand. Lyttelton, was held in the Foresters' Hall on January 15th, Chief G. Laurenaon, M.H.R., presiding. There was a fair attendance. Reports of a Very satisfactory nature as to the forthcoming concert were received. The seciet*ry wae instructed to convey the thanks ' of "the society to Brother T. Coupar for liis donation of £5 to be competed for by children ol Lyttelton on the subject if Soottdeh history. Four new members were elected. At Little Rapaki on Thursday night a euchre and eribbage match was played between the Star Camp and Governor's Bay, • resulting in a. win for the Star Camp. During the evening , .Mr C. Childs gave selections on the accordeon and the man- ' dolke. At the half-yearly meeting of the Washington Lodge, 1.0. F., the following officers were elected:—J.P.G., Bro. A. C. Simmons; N.G., Bro.
