FIRES.
An alarm of fire "-as given from the box .. the Caversham Hot*, yesterday about 1.30 p.m. The fire was at a Chinese laundry at the corner of George and Madrae streets, and appeared to have originated in the lower pajt of the bouse, which was a tw'i-storey one. The twe chemical engines managed to get the fire out without the asajs lance of the steamers.
