BOWLING.
NORTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. (PKES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.)
PALMERSTON NQRTH, January 14. The bowling tournament was continued in magnificent -weather. The moet interesting feature of the day's play was the defeat of .Palmerston, who were then unbeaten, by the Whataupcko team, of Gisborne. Palmerston won the next two games, and is leading with Napier, both teams having seven wins and a loss. Bastings and Newmarket have six wins and one loss. Wellington has six wins and fcwo losses, and Gisborne five wins and two losses. There ■was nothing sensational in any of the games.' In the Wellington-New Plymouth match the 6bwl of the Wellington ekip'e touched a Wellington player's foot.
