MEETINGS, ENTERTAINMENTS, &c.
On Thursday, at Carleton, a successful ente_*ta_-_n«nt was given, and a dance followed. The songs were given by Messrs T- Cooper, H. J. Cooper, J. Whyte, R. Gallon, P. Sterling, J. Osborne, R. Winter, and Miss Dick.
The members of the Kaiapoi Wesleyan Church Chair were an Saturday afternoon entertained by Mr and Mrs Pan-ham, ait Beach Vale Farm, amd had a very enjoyable time. Besidea various outdoor games and vocal muaicai selections, the brass band, under B_tidina_ter Hoskins, was present. Mr Blackwell, choirmaster, expressed the thanks of the visitors.
