DIX GAIETY COMPANY.
There was a large audience at the Opera House on Saturday night, when the Dix Gaiety Company submitted a fresh programme. Miss te_a_ie Smith sang the ballad "Home, dearie, home," nicely, and was very 'successful in her coon songs. "Along tho rails" was brightly rendered by Miss Ida Roslyn, who was also recalled for her item in the second part. Miss Beryl Gilman was recalled for her singing of "Tell me with your eyes." Little Vara Keart__ sang and danced well The Wilton Brothers astonished the audience with their feats and antics on the horizontal bars, which were performed with great slriH and neatness. Mr Charles Howard sang "The rose of IDSkurn*y" with good effect, and was encored. Mr Jack Kearns was good in his comic songs, and Mr Frank Yorke gave Ids item* with much success. Alberto, the coin end card manipulator, performed hJs tricks deftly and cleverly. Much interest was shown in the biograph pictures. The (_ompany appear iv the same rmwrra-hme to-night. The caste of Mr Dixs p__sto-n_me, "Dick Wh_ttii.trton end his Cat, Is a very strong one. The principal "boy" m Miss Sadie CtM-o, and Miss Olive Lenton is principal girt Little Oasino as "tbeoafbas made a great hit in the North. The season commences next Monday, and the mechanical staff arrive here on Friday. The Company leave Wellington by special bo>t on Saturday. :-. ■■.
