A youth named James, while bathing at Lone Cove, had his leg terrible mangled by a shark, and died from the effects of his injuries. BURGLARY IN A BOOT FACTORY. Walters'* boot factory at Forest Lodg. was broken into and £200 worth of boots stolen. THEFT OF BAR OF GOLD. MELBOURNE, January 11. A large plate glass window at Way's, jeweller, Bourke street, was smashed, and a seventy ounce bar of gold was stolen. KENNTFFS DEATH SENTENCE. (Received January 12th, 1.9 a.m.) BRISBANE, January 11. Ths Cabinet declined to interfere with the death sentence on Pat Kenniff. * BURNT TO DEATH. A woman named Robertson and three children were burnt to death in the destruction of a dwelling at Nudgee.
