ASHBURTON.
Our Ashburton correspondent reports as follows:—
Wheat—The only business now expected is in small lines to clear up stores and granaries while present rates last; no lines of any consequence have been offered. Millers are exiperiencing some difficulty in obtaining sufficient Pearl to mix, but have in most cases sufficient stocks of other kinds to last over until new grain is ready to mill. Prices are nominally—Pearl 5s Id to 5s 2d, Tuscan and Hunter's 4s lid to ss, on trucks. Oats—A few lines of damaged oats have been on offer, but meet with very little demand. Good milling are required in small quantities, millers being u_wi_dng to stock up at present rates in face of the prospect of good harvest. Quotations are-*-Milling Canadians 2s 6d to 2s 9d, Duns and Danisn 2s 3d to 2s 6d.
Oatsneaf Chaff—Has been falling rapidly in price, owing to the limited demand, and to-day is saleable at from £4 to £4 5s on trucks.
