1 - DUNEDIN, January 9. j " The Public Works Department has mnted the use of the old Immigration .Mavacks at Caversham as a temporary ' hoppital tot infectious diseases. This has been rendered necessary by the prevalrace of scarlet fever and German measles. 1 ftnee December Ist 163 cases, of scarlet fever were reported in the city and ' frtSurbs and 25 from the country.
