The toast of "The X_sjpp ■waa enthusiastically honoured. ?'?sk In responding to the toast of the "Ho_*a>| of Representatives" (proposed by 'Mr.R>'J| C. -Bishop), Mr Laiu_&son said that slowness with which reforms were f out in the colony to a large extent _»*|| counted for their pe_-_-ence when e.h<js»|| cd. As the people had become more dsmoo| oratic, they had become not only prosperous, but more moral, more ful, and more brotherly toward* * other.
