WANGANUI, January 9. At ithe adjourned inquest on the body of Beatrice Walker, who drowned herself in a bath on Tuesday, the jury returned a verdict that deceased committed suicide while suffering from mental depression, brought on by Illness. The inquest was resumed on the sudden death of Mrs Dudley, who drank part of the contents of a small bottle, which she thought contained sweet spirits of nitre, which was found on a dust heap. The Government analyst's report showed that the bottle contained hair wash, containing tincture of canthaxides, an irritant poison. A verdict was returned that death was due to a poison accidentally taken, and a rider added suggesting that a medicine bottle should be emptied before being thrown away.
" HAMILTON, January 9. Marie, the wife of Wm. Voice, a blacksmith at Te Awamutu, was found drowned in tbe Mongahoe river.
A man named Charles Carroll has been drowned in a stream near Porotarao.
