THE THORNTON SEASON
"The Private Secretary," with which J* connected the name of Mr Frank Thornton in the part of the Rev. Robt. Spalding, was produced last night at the Theatre Royal, when there was a good attendance. Mrs Walter Hill played tlie part of Miss Ashford with a good deal of success, and Misses Fordyoe and Norbury were good in the characters of Edith Mainland and Eva Webster. Mr Thornton's impersonation cf the Rev. Robt. Spalding was as excellent as on former occasions. Mr Wilson, as Mr Catterniole, scored the success of the season, so far as he is concerned. Mr Bradiey was good as Douglas Cattermole, and Mr Denton gave another illustration of his versatilitj r by his performance as Mi Gibson. The piece will bo repeated tonight, which will conclude the season.
