SYDNEY SHIPPING. (Received January 9th. 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, Janua-ry 9. Returns show that the tonnage of ships that entered Sydney last year was 5,323.000 tons, an increase of 463,000 tons as compared with t!i- previous year. ECONOMY IN NEW SOUTH WALES RAILWAYS. With a view to economy the Railway Workshops will not work on Saturdays. This represents an annual saving of £24,000. THE COMMONWEALTH VOTERS. MELBOURNE, January 9. Aii official return shows that there are 970,000 male and 856,000 female voters in the Commonwealth. GOVERNOR-GENERAL SWORN IN. (Received January 9th. 9.51 p.m.) .MELBOURNE, January 9.
