SYDNEY, January 9.
The Premier yesterday cabled to the Agent-General strongly urging him to make representations to the Imperial Government that all meat supplies for military purposes in South Africa should be obtained hum the Commonwealth and the colonies of tiio Empire. A copy of tlie cable was sent to the Premiers of other States and to Mr Seddon, requesting them to communicate with their respective London AgentsGeneral on the subject. (Received January 10th, 12.40 a.m.) LONDON. January 9. Mr Copeland, Agent-General for New South Wales, has written to the War Office that Mr Brodrick will be pleased to learn that the Department's action in declaring that supplies for the military in South Africa mast be obtained from British or Imperial sources if possible, fully accorded with me cabled wishes of the New South Wales Premier.
