Almost incessant rain has been experienced this we_s, _nd the rivers are now running very fnse. ~ . , . „_ North Beach shares were sold to-day at 2as and Trafalgar shares at 15s, both haying an upward, tendency. There were enquiries for Leviathans, the ground showing an mgiroveIt is not expected that there will bo returns from more than fifteen dredges to-mor-row, as most of the machines have had stoppages during the week. (SPECIAL TO "THE PBESS.") DUNEDIN January 9. Tho Aiding* Company's dredge, having effected repairs, is now in good working order, and improved returns are expected. The Watterson's-Ahaura Company report that the river is in flood, and dredging has been stopped. The Feddersen Company's dredge has stopped on account of the river being too high.
