colony has participated in the good rain. The drought has broken up,'and the prospects of the cereal crops hare been immensely improved. *
THE KAWATIRI FLOATED OFF. LAUNCESTON, October 22.
The Kawatiri, which was stranded on the Strahnbbatr t has been floated off uninjured.
TICK FEVER. BRISBANE, October 22. Tick fever is again very virulent in the northern districts, and many cattle are dying. A FATAL FIRE. October 23. A fire destroyed the Charleville School of Arts, and the secretary, Mr Wfls/>n, was burnt to death. A political meeting wms to have been held the following day, and incendiarism from political motives is suspected.'
[Cbarleville is 483 miles west of Brisbane. The School of Arts contained a library of 480 volumes.]
