Whakatane marching teams will compete in a contest at Mount Maunganui on Boxing Day.

Motor Cycle Racing High standard of riding and fast times are expected when the beach meeting of the season is held at Ohope on Boxing Day. Martin (Velocette), and other Edgecumbe riders. A possible late entry will be Jackson of Te Kaha.
