Freyberg Cup Offers Promising Line

Considerable interest has been created in the Freyberg Cup at Paeroa tomorrow by the fact that most of the runners are engaged in the Auckland Cup on Boxing Day. Last year the big race at the Ohinemuri meeting furnished a real guide to the two-miler at Ellerslie when Swanee completed the double. That history should be repeated may perhaps be a little too much to expect, though in recent years, Foxwyn, Balgowan, Sylis and Swanee, place-getters in the Paeroa event, have gone on to win at Auckland. Possible fancies on the day may include:— Turua Hack Hurdles: Euryalus, Scotch Meadow, Regal Simon. Waihi Stakes, First Division: Karani, Admiral Rose, Mybella.. Second: Janira, June Denby, Cincinnati. Karangahake Hdcp: Montana, Bahadurshah, Black Prince. Nether ton Plate, First Division: Triest, Scribble, Pictavia Lass. Second: Ella Lee, Chester Belle, Master Jovial. Freyberg Cup: Conspiracy, Biassed, Balmacara. Hauraki Hack Cup, First Division: Melody, Chiarina, Lucky Fellow. Second: Soeur De Beau, Mary Marvel, Longford. Shaw Hdcp.: Dixie, Regality, Personage. Waikino Hack Hdcp., First Division: Sandow, Park Princess, Tunisia. Second: Quill, Roka, Silver Chief.
