Bright Farewell At Taneatua
The Taneatua Hall was the scene of a bright social gathering on Monday, when residents and friends farewelled Miss Joan Sisam, at the same time making a presentation to Miss Brunton, both of whom are leaving to be married shortly. Mrs Todrhan made presentations to both on behalf of tire Basketball Club, Mrs Hayward, in the absence of Mrs Santon, spoke of the work and time Miss Brunton had given to the Girl Guides, and asked Janet Hill to make the presentation on their behalf. Mr Neil Reid made Miss Sisam a presentation on behalf of the Tennis Club and then speak--ing for residents, remarked on the esteem with which she and her family were held in the district and thanked her for the work find help she had always given, and mentioned Miss Sisam’s scholastic attainments and, on behalf of the residents, asked her to acept a cheque. Miss Sisam replied, as did Miss Brunton.
