Baker Stroked Winning Crew
Maintaining his improved form D. Baker again stroked the winning crew at the second of the season’s trial fours conducted by the Whakatane Rowing Club. Competing for the W. Stuart Challenge Cup, Baker’s crew won their earlier races convincingly and gained victory by a quarter of a length in the final. Baker (str), M. Brown (3), K. Bowering (2), B. Fitzsimmons (bow), T. Flay (cox) beat G. Moore (str), K. O’Rourke (3), D. McGlashen (2), G. Stubbs (bow). Jaram (cox).
