CALF CLUB DISPLAYS HELD AT TANEATUA

The Taneatua and Opouriao schools’ annual calf club field day was held on Wednesday under ideal conditions, and with a large gathering of parents and spectators. The official dairy type judge was Mr J. Rae, Jnr., while Mr J. Downs and Mr M. Rawson acted as joint judges in the child’s effort and leading classes.

The general condition and appearance of calves was well up to standard and the children are to be complimented on the handling of their calves.

The Taneatua School calves were judged in the morning, and the champion from Taneatua was then conveyed to Opouriao school and judged against the champion calf at Opouriao resulting in a well merited win for Master Bob Prince of the Opouriao school, and who will now hold the Opouriao Dairy Co. shield for that award. While the calf judging at Taneatua was in progress parents and friends viewed sewing and hand work on display in the classrooms. .'
