Tanks In Korea Best In World
British tanks in use in Korea are said to be the best in the world. Well, let us hope that this time it is correct. One sure thing is that British tanks in use in World War II were not the best in the world. Those used by the Germans were. Mr Churchill; appreciated this fact and did his best to improve the breed, but without very much success. Our tanks in the desert were outgunned and outpaced. They suffered from the further disability that only half of them were able to keep the field as they wore out so quickly. It was Britain who gave the world the tank toward, the end of World War I. After that war Britain went back mentally to the horse. Admittedly, a British general after World War I gave the world the foundations of the tank tactics used in the last war, first by the Germans and later by the British. After World War II Britain gave the world the jet engine. Let us hope that its history will not follow that of the tank.
