BAY FARMERS SHOULD TAKE WAIKATO’S LEAD?
The belief that Bay of Plenty farmers could well take a lead from Waika to in reconciling their differences is expressed by the general secretary of Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Incorporated) Mr A. P. O’Shea.
This belief is expressed in a letter in which he, on behalf of his Federation, compliments this paper on its interest in trying to bring about reconciliation between the Bay of Plenty Provincial Executive and the executive of the Bay of Plenty Sub-Province (Auckland Province).
Exactly the same difficulty (a split organisation) occurred in the Waikato but Waikato Province and the Auckland have reconciled their differences, he writes.
His letter implies that the Federation considers unification to be similarly possible in the Bay of Plenty.
