TAXI CABS WANTED AT MURUPARA
Taxi cab licences for Murupara are sought by two applicants, E. L. Rossiter and V. K. Dhanjee and their applications will be heard by the No. 4 Transport Licensing Authority at Whakatane on November 15.
Applications for new passenger service authorities include one from Ohope Transport Ltd., which seeks approval to carry passengers to race meetings. This is a rehearing, as directed by the Transport Appeal Authority. J. M. McComb and Co. Ltd. apply for authority to ply from Whakatane and Ruatoki to Rotorua, Tauranga, Te Aroha, Paeroa, Matamata, Thames, Cambridge and Te Rapa. Amendments to several goods service licences are sought.
2,000 Voters Nearly 2,000 persons will be eligible to vote in Whakatane Borough’s Municipal elections. Including 90 names on the supplementary roll, there are 1994 voters enrolled.
