BAY OF PLENTY BEACON Published Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 18, 1950 WASTE PAPER

No doubt Whakatane will respond well to the suggestion of the local branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children’s Society that waste paper should be collected to provide regular revenue for the branch. In town and district, big quantities of paper are burnt or otherwise destroyed every year. The estimate that 50 tons a year could be collected is probably conservative.

Like so many organisations of its kind, the society suffers from lack t>f regular income. Let it be hoped that, in this case, Whakatane will respond.
