Wharf At Te Kaha Favoured
A proposal to erect a wharf at Awanui, a few miles from Te Kaha, was supported by a meeting of the Bay of Plenty sub-provincial executive of Federated Farmers, Auckland Province, at Whakatane. A wharf it was stated, would be of much benefit to the area in bringing in and taking out supplies of fertiliser and wool. At the present time road transport made the cartage of fertiliser almost prohibitive.
The meeting decided to pursue the question further.
