Competition In All Classes At Te Puke Sale

The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report holding their fortnightly stock sale on Tuesday, October 10. The largest yarding of pigs for some time was penned, competition was keen for all classes with the exception of heavy bacon, which eased. Works buyers were operating on increased rates for medium and light bacon with re--duced rates for heavies. Buttermilks and stores also showed a sharp rise.

A medium entry of fat sore and boner cattle was penned. Paddock cows showed an increase while all other classes remained firm. A medium yarding of fat and store sheep also sold at late rates, while a small yarding of dairy cattle sold at slightly increased values. Quotations: —

Pigs: Choppers £3 10s to £8 16s; heavy bacon to £7 3s; medium bacon £6 15s to £7 3s; light bacon £6 4s to £6 13s; extra good buttermilks £5 13s to £6; small buttermilks and large stores £5 8s to £5 12s; medium stores £4 15s to £5 3s; small pigs £3 18s to £4 8s; extra good slips £3 10s to £4; other slips £3 2s to £3 8s; gest weaners £2 3s to £2 12s; others £3 4s to £2.
