Eastern Bay Gift Appreciated In Britain
That clothing sent to Britain by the Eastern Bay of Plenty Centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society is appreciated is evidenced by this letter received from the almoner of the Cowley Road Hospital, Oxford: — “I am writing to thank you for the crate of clothing we have just received via the Red Cross in London. We were extremely glad to receive these clothes and it is very good of your Association to send them.
“Most of the patients in this hospital are the elderly or chronic sick, so I have kept all the things that are likely to be suitable for these patients and I am sending the others to the Radcliffe Infirmary, where they have younger patients.
“Many of our elderly patients are short of warm clothing and they will particularly appreciate these things during the coming winter.”
