Parishioners Say Farewell To Mr And Mrs H. L. King
Mr and Mrs H. L. King, who have left for Takapuna, were farewelled by a large number of Anglican Parishioners in the Parish Hall on Thursday evening. Mr C. S. Armstrong presented Mrs King with a crystal salad bowl and Mr King with a smoker’s companion and stressed the sterling qualities of the guests of the evening. Rev. Loten also spoke, commenting on their influence for good in the district. Mesaames G. Paterson and C. W. Good supplied the music for dancing and the following varied programme, in the hands of Mr C. R. Coates: —Menu competition, Mrs G. Caisley and Mr M. List; musical hats, Mrs C. S. Armstrong: make up competition, Miss Richradson and Mr J. Slipper; sketch “broadcasting station” Messrs C. R. Coates and T. Davie; cornet solo, Mr K. Jarrett; short sketch presented, by Messrs D. Bridges, J. Bowering, M. Morice and M. Phillips; humorous duet, Dr E. T. Dawson and Mr T, Davie.
