COMMITTEE ON HARBOUR IS NOW TRIBUNAL

The committee originally set up to decide on a site for a Bay of Plenty port becomes a tribunal, under the chairmanship of Judge Archer, and will sit in Rotorua. This is stated in a letter received by the chairman of the Whakatane Harbour Board, Mr W. R. Boon, from the Minister of Works, Mr Goosinan.

Procedure will be on the lilies usual for such tribunals and its form will be decided the chairman. Dated September 22, the Minister’s letter stated that the tribunal would sit in Rotorua in 28 days’ time from then and submission would be received for 14 days from the date of the letter.
