Matatua Defeats Horouta In A Fast Game

Exhibiting greater pace and penetration the Matatua team easily defeated Horouta, a side from xhe East Coast, by 34 to 11 in a Rugby match played as part of th Septennial Celebrations.

Ably led by Aukaha, Collier and Stone, the Matatua forwards,, outplayed' their opposition of the greater part of the game. The backs took full advantage of the feast of the ball and played fast, enterprising football. The two five-eighths Kingi and Koopu played fine football | Kingi especially went very well. The thrust that? these two gave to the backline made things very pleasant for the three-quarters Biddle and Bluett. \

For Horouta, Paul played well behind a beaten pack, while Dewes and Reedy showed promise on the rare occasions that they received the ball. In the forwards, Manuel, Moore and Peachy worked well.
