Otakiri Young Farmers Meet

Th monthly meeting of the Otakiri Young Farmers’ Club was held on September 4 with an attendance of 12.

Notification of a farming filmstrip to ba shown on September 25 was received. Arrangements were made for a ploughing match to be held on September 27 on the property of Mr F. Alexander, Awaiti Road, Otakiri. To date 12 entries have been received. The wish was expressed that a good muster of local farmers and their families would make a picnic day. A cup presented by Mr R. Barton and at present held by last year’s winner, Mr G. Murray, Jnr., Will again be keenly contested for. The contest will be judged by Messrs Walter Gow and W. A. McCracken.

A challenge was issued to Awakeri Y.F.C. to a friendly football match to be played at Awakeri.
