Most 'of the private papers -»of Franklin D. Roosevelt late President of the United States, were opened to researchers on March 17 with ceremonies held at the late President’s home. The number of items in the collection is estimated to be between i.000,0C0 and 5,000.
Stanley Cook, 63 year old railway porter at Accrington Station, Lancashire (England), reckons he is the luckiest man alive. He was run over by a shunting train and the first blow sent him stunned to the track. The engine and three coaches passed over him and he received only slight head injuries.
