THE PRICE OF BEER

Sir, —At a time like the present when so many things are going up it is refreshing indeed to learn that the price of at least one important everyday need is about to be -reduced. The good news that beer is coming down will be hailed with pleasure by many hardworking men.

pThose who were seep/cal of the Prime Minister’s statement that competition would reduce the cost of living should now be convinced. As the result of competition and the breaking up of a monopoly the cost of living is about to be reduced by an average of over twopence per bottle. Yours etc., JOHN BARLEYCORN.
