Health Stamps On Sale Next Month At Whakatane P.O.

The 1950 Health Stamp will be placed on issue at the Whakatane Post Office on October 2, and unless sold out earlier, will remain on issue until January 31, 1951. These stamps marking the twenty-second year of issue of Health are of a very attractive design and feature H.R.H. Princess Elizabeth wi- s . Prijnce Charles on her knee. T'lis is the first stamp in which the young prince has appeared. The stamps have been produced by the photogravure process. The 3d stamp is dull maroon in colour and the lid stamp, bottle green.

Each sheet contains 120 stamps, and the value 30/- and 15/- respectively appear on the top right hand corner. The dull maroon'of the 3d stamp is a new colour in New Zealand stamps and it should provide ,a pleasing contrast, to the earlier issues of Health Stamps whch, in the past, have been confined to.blue, red, green and brown shades.
