MR WARREN WILL BE CANDIDATE FOR MAYORALTY

fe* G. Warren will be a candidate for the mayoralty of Whakatane at the Municipal Elections in November, he announced on Friday. The present mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, has already stated that he will not be re-contesting the office.

Mr Warren is a Justice of the Peace. He was for two years president of the Rotary Club of Whakatane and for a similar period president of the Chamber of Commerce. He has been president of the Winter Show Association for five years and is in his second term as a member of the Harbour Board. Mr Warren has been a member of the Borough Council for six years and is chairman of the Works Committee.
