Whakatane Not To Attend Canterbury Rowing Regatta
Because of the uncertainty of being able to obtain full crews the Whakatane Rowing Club has decided not to enter in the Canterbury Centennial rowing regatta or the New Zealand Championships, which are to be held at Christchurch early next year. Although the club is sure of some crews it is still too early yet to finalise them and entries were required to be in by late August.
Added to this it was felt that the high cost involved might affect the attendance of Whakatane crews at later regattas.
