ONE CHANGE IN SENIOR SHIELD TEAM There is only one change in the senior Whakatane Rugby team to defend the Te Hurinui Apanui Shield from Tauranga at Whakatane on Saturday. In the front of the scrum O. Anderson, who has played in every game this season, is replaced by D. Aukaha, Paroa. H. Ranapia, side row forward, will lead the team again. Other positions in the side remain unchanged. The team:—
Full back, E. Welch; three-quart-ers, B. McGougan, M. Bluett, J. Biddle; five-eighths, B. Carter, T. Riini; half back, G. Stewart; back row, P. Gardiner; middle row, D. Smith, Ngahuru, P. Ratahi, H. Ranapia (capt); front row, D. Aukaha, S. Ruffles, C. Walker. Reserves: O. Anderson, L. O. Stewart, K. Merito, B. Ruru.
JUNIOR TEAM TO PLAY TAURANGA
Virtually the same junior Rugby team that defended the Shalfoon Shield for Whakatane against Rangitaiki a couple of weeks ago has been chosen to defend the trophy again against Tauranga at Whakatane on Saturday:— Full back, Heta; three-quarters, Brown, Seebeck. Tawa; fiveeighths, Hohapata, Luxton; half back, Simpson; back row, t Chadwick (capt); middle row, Goodall, Pry or, Hunia, Shapley; front row, Lyons, Tunui, Moeke. Reserves : Comiskey, Tunui, Stewart.
WHAKATANE THIRD GRADE » The Whakatane third grade Rugby team to play Opotiki for the Black Shield on the No. 2 field at 1.15 p.m. on Saturday:— ' Mason, Grey, Goodall, Wilson, Alley, Sullivan, Oswald, Hona, Dixon, Palmes, Mahy, Hammond, Ratima, Hobman, Milroy, Windley, Flay, Stewart, Harawira, Love.
