NOISY MOTOR CYCLES
Sir, —I should like the opportunity of putting my side of the matter re noisy motor cyclists, before your correspondent R.R.R.M.
It was not aware that other Edgecumbe residents had been complaining of • this very prevalent nuisance. I only know, that, had I been able to find out the names of the youths who use the road in front of my home for a speedway, I should have complained to the
traffic inspector long ago. R.R.R.M.
speaks of the intolerance of the public towards these innocent youths, "who are only going about their normal business." I should like to ask your correspondent does their normal business require that they speed up and down the road making noise enough to waken the dead, mufflers conspicuous by their absence? No one would complain of the motor cyclist who shows a little consideration, for others by going about their lawful occasions in an orderly law-abiding manner. Let, us hope that this airing of a very real complaint will end the trouble. Yours etc.,
A. M. TERR'S Edgecumbe, August 26.
