SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES; MOTOR CYCLIST HURT

Serious head injuries were suffered by T. Rio, a young man employed by the Whakatane Board Mills when the motor cycle he was riding collided with a baker’s van, driven by Mr P. Lynds, in King Street oh Friday morning.

A pillion rider, Raymond Waiter Hewitt, was slightly injured. Both yvere admitted to hospital. The motor cycle apparently pull’ ed into the street as the van was turning. The cycle hit the front mudguard on the driver’s side.
