Indoor Bowling
TANEATUA CHALLENGE FAILS The Whakatane St. John Ambulance indoor bowling team successfully defended the St. John Challenge Shield against the Taneatua M.U.1.0.0.F. on Wednesday night. The St. John team, E. Ramson (skip), H. L. Drube, A. Mclntosh and G. Ramson defeated Taneatua 7/2, 2/9, 9/3. The next challenge for the Shield is that of Thornton, which will be played on Wednesday. TABLE TENNIS MATCHES A number of ladder matches were played and several positions altered at the Whakatane Table Tennis Club evening in the Winter Show Buildings on Wednesday. No other competitions were played, all games being friendly ones made up by members present.
