Whakatane Druids Y Team Wins Final Of Indoor Bowling

The indoor bowling tournament held in the St John Hall, Whakatane, concluded on Saturday evening, being won by Whakatane Druids Y, who defeated Board Mill St John No. 1 10-1. Mr E. Ramson thanked all teams who participated and specially congratulated the finalists, who although young teams played very high standard bowls: Mrs N. Henderson, skip of the Druids winning team, thanked the St John Social Committee for organising such a successful tournament, and expressed her thanks to her teams which backed her so well during all games. Playing for Whakatane Druids were, Mrs M. Barrowman, Mrs L. Bell, Mrs Hancock and Mrs N. Henderson (skip), and the Board Mill St John No. 1 team was, R. Ranby, O. Moen Snr., J. Doust and H. Moen (skip). Members of the other teams which reached the final night’s play were:—
